About AKI Inter

Today, AKI Inter administers the YFU, Study Group, CIEE, ASPECT programs all over the world.

A network of over 17 partner offices and organizations, AKI INTER's global history began very humbly in the Azerbaijan . In 1998 an Azerbaijan student, Azer Jalilov, proposed to the Ministry of Education and USA Embassy in Azerbaijan to start student exchange with the United States to live with a family and attend high school/university for a year, two… in an effort to start integration to US Culture and Education System. This proposal met with approval from Ministry of Education Azerbaijan Republic.

In 1998 the Mr. Azer Jalilov received permission to act as the official agency for this program and be a founder/director. It was named "Youth For Understanding-Azerbaijan." Then as now, family and community living were at the center of the YFU international learning experience. Mr. Azer Jalilov,now serves the program as Chairman.

Baku , Azerbaijan , August 1998 first Azeri students applying for High School study in US Public High School and live in American homes on a voluntary basis. Mr. Azer Jalilov was asked to be Flight Leader to help Azeri YFU Students with ACCELS student fly to Washington DC . Program Manager of YFU-Azerbaijan –Kenan Jalilov and Program Assistant-Ibrahim Jalilov, was asked to lend his assistance.

Baku , Azerbaijan , November 2001 after YFU Inc. started to act as YFU USA , YFU Azerbaijan started to act and registered in Azerbaijan as AKI INTER Ltd. with the new director Kenan Jalilov and Program Manager- Ibrahim Jalilov.

Now, AKI Inter has contracts and represent YFU USA, Study Group, CIEE, ASPECT, ACES.
